Private Drum Lessons

4 private Drum lessons at your preferred day and time! We offer lessons on weekdays from 3:00 - 9:00 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Classes are held at Expressions Music Academy Troy - 4000 Livernois Rd, Troy, MI 48098

After you purchase your pack of 4 private lessons, please call or text the office at 248-773-8364 or email at info@expressionsmusicacademy.com to book your lessons. Be sure to mention that you purchased 4 lessons through the Troy school system! Expressions Music Academy does not handle any payments. 

Your first lesson can be booked up to two weeks in advance, and your will have the same recurring day, time, and teacher for 4 consecutive weeks! Following your last lesson, you will have the opportunity to enroll for recurring lessons directly through Expressions Music Academy.

Please note that the date on the calendar below does not reflect any actual scheduling. All scheduling for your lessons must be completed through the Expressions office. 

Drums are one of the most fun instruments anyone can learn and are a great choice for kids and adults alike! We offer weekly private drum lessons to students starting at age 6 and have 30, 45, and 60-minute lessons available. We teach a variety of different styles such as rock, pop, jazz, Latin, classical percussion, and more. Learn to play the beats to your favorite songs or improve percussion technique for your band at school. If your little one is full of energy and banging on pots and pans at home, drum lessons can be a great creative outlet!

DRUM LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS - All of our drum instructors love working with beginners, and have experience creating a structured program to help students master all the foundational aspects of not only drumming technique, but also rhythm, theory, and reading music. Instructors use both method books and the student’s favorite songs to teach concepts, generally starting with the snare drum and quickly moving to use the entire drum set. Our drum rooms have two full acoustic sets so the instructor can demonstrate on one set while the student plays on the other.

DRUMS FOR EXPERIENCED STUDENTS - Whether students have been self-taught, have experience from another instructor or school, or gained all their experience at Expressions, we know how to help them reach the next goal. Intermediate or advanced drum or percussion students learn how to play more challenging music and fine-tune and polish their playing by mastering more advanced techniques and theoretical applications. Whether students want to learn a new style, prepare for a high school or college audition, get good enough to join a band, or just keep playing for fun, our instructors have the knowledge and experience to get them there.

DRUMS FOR ADULTS - There is no greater way to release stress than banging on the drums to your favorite songs! Our instructors enjoy working with adults whether they are brand new beginners or already have some experience playing. After talking through your specific goals, our instructors will create a structured plan that will have you on a path to success before you know it, all while jamming out, relieving stress, sharpening your skills, and having a blast!
